Rosario García-Montero (writer & director):
A graduate in media studies from the Universidad de Lima, she completed a Master's degree in Film Production at New School University in New York. There she wrote and directed three short films: Locked (2002), Are You feeling lonely? (2004) and Perfidia (2006), which were selected by several international festivals, including the Sundance Film Festival. In 2006 she attended a screenwriting workshop at the International Film and Television School in Cuba, where she began to develop the idea for The Bad Intentions.
This debut feature had its world premiere at the 61st Berlinale 2011, earning an auspicious nomination for a Crystal Bear in the Generation section.
The film was awarded "best Peruvian film of the year" at the XV Lima International Film Festival, and the Special Jury Prize at the 39th Gramado Film Festival in Brazil.
Rosario García-Montero was a special guest at George Lucas's Skywalker Ranch during the 2011 Los Angeles International Film Festival.
She has been recognised as one of "the 25 New Faces of Independent Film" by Filmmaker magazine.
